The advance came amid buying by local and Arab institutions and investment funds, alongside foreign individual investors, while foreign institutions and Egyptian and Arab individual investors were net sellers.
Trading volume reached EGP 13.458 billion, with 3.275 billion securities traded through 281,974 transactions.
The market capitalization of listed companies stood at EGP 3.936 trillion at the close of trading.
The market capitalization of listed shares rose to EGP 3.811 trillion, up from EGP 3.782 trillion at Wednesday's close.
The benchmark index EGX30 rose by 0.11% to close at 52,679.45 points.
